Program Director: Kym Apicelli
For the past 27 years my parents have be running Ron’s Guitars as well as its lesson program. I myself grew up at the store watching people coming in and out with lesson books and new musical instruments. Although I’ve never attempted teaching on my own, I gained a great appreciation for the people that were able to do so.
In my house you didn’t have to play sports or play outside all day, but you did have to play an instrument. Whether it was theory classes, Cello, Piano, or Vocal lessons… I was always participating in something musical! Even now, in my twenties, I continue to spend my free time enjoying music.
For the past few years I’ve be singing for Jay Dempsey & Highway Call, performing at local bars on the weekends as well as gigs at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den. I recently participated in WCTY's 2010 Catch a Rising Star Competion taking 1st place and Audience Choice!
After high school, or college, most sports come to a stop. Music does not. You are always able to sit down at a piano and play, or pick up a guitar and jam, or participate at the local Karaoke spot. It was something I didn’t understand when I was little, but its something I appreciate and want to share now.
My parents are passing me the torch to inspire and encourage new music students. As of February 1st 2010 I have taken over the The Ron’s Guitars Lesson Studio. I want to take what is already a successful program and bring it to the next level. With student/teacher showcases, master classes, and ensemble classes, I want to create and environment that encourages our students to be ROCK STARS!
I appreciate your participation in the Ron’s Guitars lesson program and I hope you are as excited as I am about the future of the program. DO NOT hesitate to call or email me with questions. I want to continue the tradition of a fun family environment. I look forward to getting to know all of our students and their families!
Thank You! See you soon!
