Here at Ron’s I have tried very hard to create an atmosphere that will inspire musicians to stay involved in music. Much like the experience I had as a young player taking lesson and shopping for new gear. I still have fond memories of my Father and I shopping for my first Fender Telecaster in 1974 at age 15. It was $247.00 brand new! As my father will tell you… from that point on… I fell in love with going to and hanging out in music stores. When I was actively playing in bands during the mid 70’s and early 80’s I had the opportunity to see most of the retail music stores in New England and thru New York. I was also teaching guitar during that time and had 65 students, most wanting my blessing before moving forward on a new guitar, pedal or amp….This was the catalyst that motivated me to take my personal experience as a passionate player…shopper…and teacher to my other interest…

In 1984 my wife Cathy and I started Ron’s Guitars Inc. We have worked extremely hard along with our employees to build one of New England’s top guitar shops. We have been recognized by most of our Manufactures as one of the top five independent dealers in New England. We carry the Best Brands and have an outstanding Lesson Program with over 200 students taking lesson here weekly.

In 2003 we were fortunate enough to buy our own strip mall where we now have our store located on Route 1 in Groton.

My goal is to offer a place where students and customers can come and hang, shop or discuss music gear, as I did for many years prior to owning my own shop.

I have been playing guitar for about 18 years. For 12 of those years I have been in and out of metal bands that have played with artists such as Hatebreed, Disturbed and Zakk Wylde's Black label Society. We recorded and
released 2 independent records. Along with metal I am studying classical guitar, lap steel, slide Dobro, Electric and acoustic blues. I have engineered the recording of few local bands CD's, Also have run live sound for them on several occasions. I am also well versed in midi and computer Recording.

I started working at Ron's Guitars in January of 2000. Since then I have moved from shipping and receiving, to sales, to store manager. I do everything i can to make sure that the customers that i have are very satisfied with not only their instrument or amplifier but also with their service and over all experience at Ron's Guitars. whether you are a beginner or a touring musician on a major tour, we will be able to find the piece of equipment that will not only fit your budget but also your style and experience level. I've been with Ron's Guitars for 8 years. Primarily A percussionist I do play guitar as well. In high school I was in the marching band and have been through numerous bands around the area. Its been a goal of mine to keep a well stocked drum department. Their isn't anything more frustrating than to go to a shop and not find a specific head or tension rod and then have to play a gig that night. Through special orders or stocked items I try to convey the best way to attach items or add items to your drum kits or guitar rigs. I'm normally not here on Thursdays. Hey, my name is Brian. I've been playing guitar for about 15 years or so, playing in local bands for about 4 years. I love music, when I'm not at work surrounded by instruments, music and musicians-then I am home playing, listening, or researching. Over the years my taste has grown to appreciate all types of music, and my knowledge of guitars and amps has grown as well.
